The Role:

These newly created support roles are in response to NSW Health needing to provide support to their clinical workforce during this unprecedented time. This is the perfect role for those looking for casual work and who may also be interested in testing/starting their career in healthcare! Particularly with Healthcare being one of the fastest-growing industry sectors within Australia.  You will not require healthcare experience or qualifications as full training is provided.

Responsibilities:


Provide day-to-day companionship and support to residents/patients and their families (including assistance with directions, information on visiting and parking options).

Schedule and coordinate calls between patients’ family members and the care team. Assist patients in contacting and communicating with their loved ones via mobile technology.

Seek direction from and communicate concerns or identified risks to nursing team to nursing team members.

Assist with activities of daily living (e.g., personal hygiene) and maintenance and fitting of hearing aids and glasses under the direct supervision of a clinical team member.

Where appropriate, and under the direct supervision of a clinical team member, provide support to patients/residents who are confused.

Under direction, pick-up, and drop-off items to and from other wards for clinicians.

Maintain a tidy, clean, and safe environment around the patient/resident (e.g., putting clothes away, cleaning bedside tables, removing trip hazards).

All you need is your enthusiasm, strong customer service and communication skills and the ability to onboard with us at Serco ASAP (target to commence 3 days online for the next available session).
