“I believe the first step to any successful, long lasting relationship is communication. That’s what I tell my team at work, and it’s what I always tell my family at home.”
“We’re a family here at Facilities First who communicate really well… And we make sure that great communication is present in all our projects… especially with our clients.”
Facilities First Group Manager for South West Sydney, Chris Karam, combines his strong communication skills and family based approach with an extremely strong technical background in the building and construction industries.
With more than a decade as a licenced builder Chris also has additional qualifications in construction and specifically in the identification and removal of asbestos.
The key aspect of Chris’ role is the management and delivery of all planned maintenance contracts within South West Sydney. This enormous undertaking has included the delivery of more than $60 million in projects over the past two years.
But it’s not about the money for Chris, who takes enormous pride in the great service that he and Facilities First provides for the community.
“At Facilities First we are caretakers for the community, and because of that we make sure we show care and love with everything we do.”
“Whether it’s roof replacements or playgrounds for schools, or bathroom refurbishments for gyms, I just love being a part of the solution that helps the community. There’s nothing better than helping schools and businesses grow and be even better than they were before.”
When Chris isn’t on site or delivering huge construction contracts you’ll usually find him with his family. For Chris, his wife and two young kids (soon to be three) Sunday is “family day”, and Chris never misses a family day.
“Every Sunday we make sure we do something together. Doesn’t matter what it is as long as we do it together. My family is the biggest driver in my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
